Sayings that aren’t true #43
A change is as good as a rest.
Oh yeah?
Not when the change means reaching 2500 students in 48 hours. Not when the change means staying on the top floor of a little hotel somewhere that’s not home. Not when the change involves putting up and taking down large screens and lighting rigs that leave peculiar shaped bruises on unexpected body parts. Not when the change involves walking up and down some 200 stone steps, 20 times a day, with tired thighs on a wind-swept, sea-facing, festival site. Not when my head is full to bursting with interesting and useful stuff, but I don’t get time to write them all down and I don’t get home ’till nearly midnight. Not then.
It is Monday. I’m tired. Really tired. I need a rest.
Please, no more changes, not just yet.
