It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas

One of the things I like about Christmas is that clementines are in season. They taste nice. Especially nice right now. I don’t know why, but I’m not a fan of oranges nor mandarins, but the humble old tangerine (why are they not called tangerines anymore?) hits the spot.

I just snaffled a clementine that was meant to be seedless. I don’t mind the seeds. I think it’s sad that we have tricked a plant into producing fruit that can’t bear fruit. But if it is seedless, it should be seedless, no? Every segment bar one was, but the last segment had six, count them, six seeds in it. One small segment, six unreasonably large seeds. There was hardly any fruit at all in that last silce of citrus.

[update: Methinks they not be seedless. Today's clementine had TWENTY SIX seeds in it.

Maybe twenty seven. I think I swallowed one]
