The End of Another Chapter

Finally moved out of Wetherby Close tonight. Quite sad. After moving in together with Jules, it's quite emotional leaving.

Sitting in the empty living room, with Nige, Laura, Janet and Rachael, along with several boxes of pizza, I couldn't help crying a little. All the good memories, and sad memories. Walking round the house for one more time, each room empty and quiet. No cat meowing. No-one shouting my name, having forgotten to put something somewhere.

But, as I said at the start of 2011, it feels more and more that this is the year of changes. And I really do need to get on that housing ladder.

To Be Anonymous or Not?

Always a debate this time of year; do you send a valentine with your name, or anonymously? Which is the more romantic? And how annoying it is not knowing, having to guess who sent it.

Long gone are the days of climbing drainpipes to deposit flowers and chocolates on windowsills. For one thing, I doubt the drainpipe would hold my weight these days. And besides, personal delivery, according to folklore, should be done before midnight on the 13th. A knock at the door, and run away. Which sounds silly.

Of course, it helps if you send one in the first place. There's no point debating whether it's right or wrong, romantic or stupid, if you've not bothered in the first place.

Guess I'll find out soon enough, if I decide to send any this year ;-)
